Have you ever known someone who coughed like that but there was nothing wrong with?
To be honest they sound like a smokers cough. Also, lysinopril, a BP med, will also make you cough like that.
Back around 2004, the doctors said I had high blood pressure and gave me a particular medication. About six weeks into this...I started to have a minor dry throat which lead onto some coughing. A month later....I’d have a major coughing fit that would last two or three minutes. I started to chew cough drops to a huge degree (20-plus per day). I never pinpointed this being connected to the blood pressure medication.
Four years of this went by and my wife one day was reading about my medication and noted that a number of people had this reaction to it.....serious coughing attacks. On that day...I stopped the medication. Two weeks later....no more coughs.
In her case, I think’s the same thing but she’s probably got five to six different health issues and on various medications.
To complicate matters further, some meds can actually cause those kinds of coughing spells.
