Another thing to keep in mind - once illegals are given official license to stay, Schumer will immediately begin squawking about the unfairness of their paying taxes but not having a voice or a vote. “Taxation without representation” will be the rallying cry from the extremists as their efforts toward citizenship shift into full-time high gear, knowing that 20-40 million citizens equals permanent democrat control. Trump cannot yield on the status of illegals.

So you make their visa - or whatever it would be called - contingent upon their agreement to be permanently ineligible to vote in a US election (at any level of government). 99% of all illegals offered that option would JUMP on it.
Frankly I think there are twice as many in this country as we are told. When I consider the action it will take to shove them all out I remember the time I had to evict the borders living in my mothers house at the time of her death. I couldn’t just walk in and tell them that she was dead, and they had to move out asap. I had to get ‘em out according to the law.
That took FOUR months, and I was only able to move that quickly because I knew basics on how to evict, and I got really damn lucky with a surrogate judge granting me emergency Admin powers. Otherwise those vermin would have been in that house living free for about 16 months!
In the end, one “self deported” early because he saw the light, another went quietly after the judge ruled in my favor (I had to bring a separate case for each rat), but the third one - well he was a peach! I had to hire a constable to get rid of him, and he stole every bit of my mothers belongings on his way out. I was forced to watch him and his helpers carry my mothers things right past me, and under the law there was nothing that I could do.
If Trump gets elected we can see a similar thing happen. Some will quickly self deport on the fear that it will go worse for them if they don’t or that the gravy train hit a wall and pickins won’t be as easy as they like. Some (few) will keep on keeping on and when served with deportation papers, leave and go back across the border. Some will put up an ugly fight. Regardless, they will have to be dealt with legally = time consuming.
If the onus is put on employers to make certain the employees are legal, HUGE difference. Go after the employers and you have solved half the problem.
End birthright citizenship for any and every individual who was born to a mother/parents who are not legally in our country. This Trump stated he will do.
Stop welfare for illegals - and they self deport.
End sanctuary cities. Trump has said that he wants to do that. Excellent move.
TONS of things can be done that do not require rounding up people and going through lengthy court battles. I expect Trump is smart enough to know these things, and to know enough not to telegraph too much.

It’s even worse than Shumer...the courts will step in, declare two Americas, separate and unequal, and immediately give them full citizenship. All the courts need is an act of Congress that tries to split the difference, and they’ll finish it off for the Democrats.
I remember saying that during the immigration wars of the past.
