...this could be a hat tip to them and keep MA in play and make Hilda spend money their....

Hate to burst your bubble but *I* have a better chance of carrying MA than Trump does...and I'm not even on the ballot. With New Hampshire the most heavily populated part of the state is the part which is,in essence,a suburb of Boston. That's why Boston TV and radio gets all those political ads...they're aimed at southeastern New Hampshire. But it seems possible that he could carry NH...W did in 2000 (by a couple of thousand votes).

I get tired of that defeatism. No wonder Republicans have a hard time winning national elections when they so willingly "spot" the Democrats a ton of electoral votes and not even try for them.

The reason this annoys me is that as a result of this pessimism, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. People in Massachusetts (and other states that people like you want to surrender to the Democrats) that would normally come out to vote for a Republican candidate stay home when they are told that their votes don't matter because the state is a lost cause anyway. Then the Democrat will win by 20-25 points, allowing people like you to smugly tell us "I told you so" and there is even less hope for the next election cycle.

I do not like this death spiral of negativity that we are in.

Had Ronald Reagan only campaigned in a handful of swing states during 1980 because the polls had him down nationally, I doubt very much he would have had the landslide he had. Maybe he would have still won but it would not have been the mandate that it was.

I do not believe in focusing a presidential campaign on just a handful of swing states and ignoring the rest of the country. That is a recipe for electoral failure in my opinion.

If the Republicans are going to start turning blue states red, they are going to have to make a play for them. Also, they cannot afford to take for granted states that are "safe." I was glad to see Donald Trump in Texas the other day. His strongest supporters deserve rallies and attention as well.

This is a national election. We are not just electing a president for Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania.

And when I go back to Western Ma and talk to my retired Fireman Uncle, and the small businessmen I know etc etc, the subject dejour is not Hillary, but Trump how they get him and he speaks the things we all think.

I am not giving up on the 49% in MA who voted for Trump, Howie Carr's syndicated audience and Kuhner Country and I left the State over 20 years ago, why should you....
