In happier times, I would have chosen “headsonpints”.
After Trump’s upcoming election, I may switch!
Lady does that a lot - - stuffs Peaglet and then wants to brood. Gotta be hard for that lil bird to breathe. LOL
She’s a VERY protective momma. She’s also an over-feeder!
I knew it wasn’t a payday week but didn’t know they give y’all some extra time for corrections. Good thing since they threw the extra project at ya.
The back’s down to the usual dull roar. Never pain-free and never will be. What stinks is getting old and arthritic. LOL! The current weather pattern sitting over us has the arthritis flared up and it makes me cranky. At least it keeps the cats at bay. :-)
I am wondering if she’s making up for all the meals they missed when it rained so much and there wasn’t enough food to go around.
Or just being a bird. LOL!
I think she’s just being a bird, and a first-time mom.
She’s certainly a better mom than those poor black storklets in Latvia had. I’m still amazed those two survived to fledge.
I am too! I didn’t watch them early on, but hardly ever saw a parent on that nest when I did watch. I guess all bird families have their own way of getting things done.
Seaglet is getting tiny pinfeathers and looks like a balding older man right now. His “hairdo” is much like hubby’s. LOL!
Why not!
Why not!
Why not!
Why not!
The parents only showed up at the nest to feed throughout. Didn’t even sleep at the nest. They weren’t typical parents at all. It was hard to check in on them but I did to root for them and they made it.
Rasa has spent quite a while in Ukraine along a river. Must be good eating there but it’s about time to get a move on.
Peaglet is one funny-looking lil eagle right now, no doubt. His head and face look like a miniature vulture. LOL
I was thinking he did, too! I guess they get more handsome when they’re older. :)
Bald eaglets are always gorgeous! :)
It won't be long before Peaglet looks the same.
I think you did...couldn’t remember where I had seen them! Thanks for resending! :)
So funny to watch her thunking them with that branch! LOL!
They are an unusual coloration though! Indded, more hawk-like!
I played it a couple of times, it tickled me so much. The eaglets weren’t too happy with her thumping and tangling them with that wonky branch. LOL!
It’s going to be interesting to watch Peaglet go through all the changes as the feathers come in. Quite a bit different than the bald eagles we’re so used to watching.
I’m native to Texas and GOP
hence txnativegop
not really liking the name much these days, but made a choice and I’ll live with it.
It is. This is the first time I’ve ever watched these beauties...or even knew they existed!...so it’ll be fun to watch him grow and mature and finally take off like our Decorah eagles.
Oh.Oh! Before I forget, someone posted a picture of one of the owls in Savannah sitting on the high branch last night. That was a nice surprise!
I’d never heard of them either until you sent the link. Yep, it’ll be fun watching this lil one grow up, but if Lady doesn’t stop stuffing him/her so much, it’ll be too fat to fly. LOL
Gonna pull up the Savannah cam now to check out the pic. Wonder if it’s Momma or Dad. It’ll be nice to see whichever one it is. I miss those two birds. Looking forward to Jan. when we’ll get to see a lot more of them again. Well, Momma any way. Dad spends very little time on the nest.
Must have been a pic posted on FB. The only owl pic at the cam site was a cool one from April that I didn’t have so I got a screen cap. Like I needed ANOTHER one in the folder. LOL! I got over 1,000 screen caps of that nest this year!
