Yep, no protestors. Mississippians are the most gracious people I’ve ever known. I would have been surprised if anyone dared to embarrass them by protesting. They would have smiled at protesters, bless their hearts, and ask them kindly to go home and the protesters would have gotten the message.
Only spent a couple of months in Mississippi. They were nice there even to service men and families. Not often in the 60’s.
