They go the way of Stuckeys. But White Castle lives on!
There is still a Stuckey’s on I-40 in NC just west of the start up Black Mountain...
We didn’t have White Castle, but we had Blue Circle and Krystal...All the same as White Castle....
Stuckeys is still around, still has over 100 locations.

Stuckey sold out to the Pet Milk folks, who with their fancy business degrees ran it into the ground. His son bought the remnants back in the mid-1980s and has done a slow but steady job of re-building the chain.
Ahhh Stuckeys and Hojo. As a little tweeter back in 1967 my family took an around the USA travel tailor trip in our 15 foot 1958 Deville. Left So Cal and hugged the South, up the left Coast into Canada to check out Expo 67 in Montreal and so on. Stuckeys and to a lesser extent Hojos were lunch time staples along the road. Almost died on the trail when we plugged into a Louisiana Camp Ground and there was an electrical short. The ground was damp, I was bare foot and I grabbed the hand rail on the Trailor to step up into the trailer. Buzzzzzzz, didn't remember much after that.
I was in a Stuckey’s just last week, in Missouri.
