I live in fly-over country, North Central WV.
I am inundated with calls where my caller ID says, “SURVEY” or “POLITICAL CALL”. I never answer them, they go to the machine and they disconnect.
I doubt I am alone in this.
I have no desire whatever to participate in polls or give up ANY information to ANY of these entities.

I do however, VOTE!

Many years ago I used to get those calls too. I got so tired of them that I changed my phone number to a private number, then I switched to another phone company and bought me a phone that had voice caller ID. I never answered the phone when I didn't recognized the number. Now I only use my smart phone and I have a specific ringtone for numbers that I don't recognize, which means I don't answer the call

I also vote and have never missed an election since I first voted in 1980
