Provigil, also known as Modafinil, is a well known “smart drug”, perhaps the best of them all right now. I know folks who take this to help them get work done. So this one might not mean much. I bet a lot of DC types take this drug for its enhancing effects.
Right on that. They are a step above Ritalin.
I have MS, and while MS patients use Provigil for fatigue, they are expensive, so depending on your insurance company you have to jump threw a few hoops to get your Rx filled. Usually you have to prove you’d been prescribed Ritalin and that it has failed to alleviate your fatigue. At that point they might agree to pay for the Provigil (I’ve always thought the name was clever “pro vigil”.)
I don’t take either (Ritalin or Provigil...there are some side effects that aren’t pleasant.) Caffeine is my drug of choice when it comes to fatigue. :)
