Per the article, MISTER Farouqi, age 20, had travelled to Turkey and possibly tried to enter Syria. and “had been on the fed’s radar screen for some time”. Fat lot of good their “radar screen” did the victims. Why did Obama let this Islamist back into the US if the feds knew he was trouble? Why wasn’t he on a “no admit” list?
Why was this Islamist in the US in the first place. “Student”? Child of immigrant? “Refugee”?

If it was a random victim attack, then it surely could not have been a targeted hate crime.
