This is classic Clintonian response.
They ridicule anyone who might bring up Hillary’s health. They mention a tabloid story, which turned out to be false because she is still alive.
They question why anyone is bringing it up, and call them crazy.
But, there is no denial of health problems mentioned here.
Just as Bill Clinton deflected rumors of infidelity going back to his 1992 campaign, by saying he caused pain in his marriage, and that Jennifer Flowers and others told stories because of being paid to speak, questioning their motives, etc. Bill Clinton never actually denied allegations of infidelity. He brought up other subjects instead.
This is exactly what Hillary is doing here. She’s questioning the motives of anyone speculating about any of this, she’s saying it’s crazy to think that way, but she’s not denying anything; she’s not saying she’s in perfect health.
That 60 minutes interview with Steve Kroft was classic Clintonian parsing, but few knew it at the time.
Steve Kroft asked him if the rumor that he had a 12-year affair with Gennifer Flowers was true.
Clinton said that that rumor was false. Of course, he did not add that it was really a 12 and a 1/2 year affair.
You're right. Although why wouldn't she just lie? She lies about everything else.
Something is going on with her health and I believe the Trump team knows this.
I noticed that - she doesn’t actually say she’s perfectly fine. She ridicules those who are questioning her health.
What I noticed about the clip is how she sits so funny. She doesn’t sit back in chair at all. She’s rather straight, as if she doesn’t want to bend her body too much at the waist.
Ridicule is all she’s got. The emails from Huma and Sid are just full of references to her ill health. But now I understand!! Those references were just codes to indicate something about the level of donations!! “I am not well today” means “they didn’t give a big enough donation” and “Doing better now” means “$10million hits the spot”.
