ALL people with psychological, emotional and/or mental issues are never self aware. That's pretty much a given.

That isn’t true at all. Basically only psychosis and, to some extent, dissociative disorders leave one without self-insight. The other conditions - depression, anxiety, personality disorders, etc., leave the patient distressingly aware of the condition in most cases. There can be rationalization and denial of a particular diagnosis - but they almost always acknowledge something is wrong.
