That was the biggest mistake ever made regarding this issue. Throwing Americans in cages over it was nothing short of insane tyranny and certainly not what should occur in a free country.

We spent the last 50+ years spending *trillions* rebuilding, supporting and providing tax paid gifts to countries all over the planet. When we could have easily helped those Americans who honestly wanted help, instead of throwing them in cages. That is not how you treat your own citizens in a free country.

Of course we all know the WOD did absolutely nothing but increase the cost, size and scope of government in every direction.

It also increased the wealth, size and scope of drug cartels ... so there is that too.

I have my own opinion... as valid as yours, without demanding anything of you (or anyone else,) against your will. My version:

That is not how you treat your own working, tax-paying citizens in a free Representative Constitutional Republic.
