I have a friend who had a stroke who has dysphagia. He sometimes coughs and it makes him pass out. He recently had pneumonia because he aspirated something.
It would also explain the adult diapers that much coughing can mess with even a healthy bladder,
One cure for a dysphagia attack is a shot of Botox—right in the throat. That would be something to see on nat’l TV.
