The story I read, via Drudge, has Powell saying ‘used AOL’ because there was no internal State Dept e-mail [unclassified] system in the State Dept in 2001....I find that as unusual in that I was using Army unclassified e-mail in the late 80s, although it was very clunky then.

But there is a difference to me between using private e-mail, from a public corp like AOL versus your own private e-mail server.
