The manoeuvres are part of what the Russian strongman sees as the fortification of a new front line with NATO By COREY CHARLTON

40,000 Russian troops are massing on the countrys border with Ukraine prompting fears of a new military invasion.
The Pentagon has identified eight staging areas dotted along the border, suggesting Russian strongman Vladimir Putin is preparing for new incursions.
Fears are growing that Russia is planning new excursions into neighbouring Ukraine
Among the units deployed to the area are armoured vehicles, tanks and fighter jets.
Navy Captain Danny Hernandez told the Washington Free Beacon that the exercises were being closely monitored.
He said: We are extremely concerned about the increasing tensions near the administrative boundary between Crimea and the rest of Ukraine.
We urge both sides to avoid provocative steps or rhetoric that could escalate the situation.
Officials told the publication similar movements were seen before Vladimir Putin carried out his deceptive annexation of the Crimea.
Such manoeuvres have reduced the warning time available to the US if he decides to launch another attack.

Here I’ll spell it out for you. It’s actually pretty simple:
Russia slaughters for it’s own purposes.
Russia has slaughtered millions of Ukrainians over the years.
Ukrainians want nothing to do with Russia, yet Russia keeps wanting to take it over.
Here is a situation where people want to be free from an oppressor and want to be able to defend themselves.
Obama and Clinton have been paid off to let Russia slaughter and destroy. You are on their side.
Get it?
No, I didn’t fight the Cold War. I fought a hot one, two tours in ‘Nam. Went to law school with 2 purple hearts and the GI bill.
What did u do, protect Sausalito? Durachit!
Peace in our time!
Are you going to send your son to fight for that? For Ukraine?
I believe that would be somebody on the side of stupidity.
Cruz? Now I think you weren’t expecting “rational,” either.
Tacamo.
The argument appears to have shifted: now, Ukraine was not a sovereign country, and is the home of the Russian Orthodox Church. As if that means something.
No, that’s always been the goose stepping Putinist argument. Delegitimize Ukraine to legitimize Russain invasion. Beyond ironic consider RUSSIA is the country that far more fits that description. Many regions of Russia would vote to leave if they could. Of course that won’t be happening.
Be sure to update your map to show you’ve been in Viet Nam.
The more the world turns the more I’m into isolationism.
Maybe take the western hemisphere then post up; let the rest of the world go to hell.
I find it hard to imagine spilling more American blood over Europe than we already have.
“Peace in our time!”
I’m with you - if the alternative is GETTING BLOWN OFF THE MAP by a totally modernized opponent.
(and don’t give me the crap about us spending more money...90% of what we spend on the military has nothing to do with weapons modernization or readiness...it’s all social work)
As I keep saying, if we want to start World War 3, how about bringing our military out of the Stone Age first (relatively speaking).
Perhaps the US should move the nukes that are in a US base in Turkey to Kiev rather than Romania.
“The dead-ender Cruz people just cant help themselves.”
I guess so...they still want Hillary to win, so they can have the land war (and nuclear exchange) they dreamed of FOR DECADES.
Compared to you fighting for a country to lose it’s freedom?
Sad.
Why do something so stupid?
It would start a nuclear exchange in the first hour upon their arrival.
Is that what you advocate?
“Take your BS over to Moscow, dimwit.
Ukraine is an independent country, and wants nothing to do with Russia.
We have treaties that say we will protect Ukraine.
You seem to support Obamas and Hillarys points on this.
Congrats, dimwit.”
You are really ok with us going over to their home turf and starting a war with them?
Napoleon and Hitler tried that; it didn’t end well.
I'm guessing your mother was very, very supportive of you. Probably still is.
umm....great argument
but you’ve been here since 1998, so you’ve got that going for you.
“Be sure to update your map to show youve been in Viet Nam.”
classic...lol
No US President has fired on a Russian military asset since before WWII. And CERTAINLY not since 1948 when they got nukes.
Yet we have stupid people on this thread advocating for just that.
Why not? Why should Russia be "annexing" anything? Yeah they have a history of warring all over Europe and Asia so it's no surprise a million of them died in Ukraine. It's also fact that many million Ukrainians were murdered and starved by Russians in the 20th century during the last "annexation". Maybe Putin should forget the imperialistic dreams and keep his own country growing by fostering trade and mutual prosperity.
