RINOs defining conservatism. Nothing Trump can say or do will move the never-Trump RINOs to support him.
I believe a big reason those “never-Trump RINOs” won’t support him is they are embarassed he is saying the things they have been too cowardly to say. And more than a little bit jealous that he is making history saying them.
Me too, Virgil. Great speech. I’m praying for Trump.
Good point in your post #22.
His adlibs, and there were a few, were outstanding. In place of "This is our chance to take back power from all the people who've taken it from you.", he said "This is your last chance to take back power from all the people who've taken it from you."
The delivery was excellent.
They don't say those things for one of two reasons, They don't believe in them, or they have no intention of delivering. It is not a question of cowardice, it is a difference in direction.
I don’t care about the never Trumps. I’m sick of dwelling on their negatives - this was an incredible and much needed speech, and one I’ve been waiting to hear from a Republican for many, many years. BRAVO! Mr. Trump. Leave the stinkin’ thinkin’ butt hurts to wallow in their own p**s. I’ve got my eyes on the future and on Donald J. Trump for President.
I am passing this link to my black friends.
Have had many conversations with “The community.” I am convinced Trump will get a HUGE part of their votes. Several have told me the same thing: They don’t even talk about Trump much in their neighborhoods and families because they get shouted down.
But they will speak in the voting booth.
For all the RINOS and especially the “purist” conservative frauds that was a speech we’ve been waiting for since Reagan. I couldn’t see Rubio, Kasich, or Cruz making a powerful statement like that made by Trump tonight.
We were at the rally. It was AMAZING....... absolutely the best speech we’ve heard him deliver.
Outstanding response from a very large crowd.
My feet are killing me - a very long..... long.... stand on cement floor. Well worth it. Best ever speech and presentation. Yes, share that link with everyone you know. Please!
We also heard Rudy, Scott Walker, Sean Duffy, Glenn Grothman and Reince Prebus. All had excellent speeches and were totally 100% behind Mr. Trump.
Wow..... now that’s exciting. She is brilliant. He’s always thinking of others.
Get on the Trump train, everyone. Do send that video link to everyone you know. We were at the rally in person, my feet fill verify that.
The speech was THE best Mr. WWWF and I have ever heard him give. Excellent, well delivered and the crowd was 100% enthusiastic and the chatter afterwards was amazing.. simply outstanding - comments like that.
Happy Birthday to Phyllis Schlafly
I watched/listened to his speech this evening and am so convinced the man is speaking from his HEART! He means what he says totally sincere!
He must be our next president!
oh no, none of the others could have made this speech.... none of the current crop comes anywhere close.
Right. I’m in the first camp as I have only two complaints about Trump: that there are mounting hints that he does not really mean the fine words he says or that he will be stonewalled to ineffectiveness by both the outright Democrats and the GOP who vote with Democrats outright or never seem to significantly oppose them...in other words one Superman can’t beat thousands of bad guys all himself no matter how good he is.
“Yes, but Donald Trump is not a Conservative! JEB!, Kasich, and Mitt Romney tell us so! ;-)”
But, he isn’t a “constitutional conservative!”
I don’t remember how many times I saw non-Trump supporters post here and other places. I asked them what a constitutional conservative was? I don’t remember getting a coherent answer. The closest any of them came was “He’s not like Ted Cruz”
The reality is that Trump’s campaign is nearly entirely based upon upholding a conservative view of the constitution.
I went to rally in San Diego. Long wait standing on hard floor was grueling. His talk there was nothing like this one. It was the speech in which, aamong other topics, he railed against Mexican judge.
>For all the RINOS and especially the purist conservative frauds that was a speech weve been waiting for since Reagan. I couldnt see Rubio, Kasich, or Cruz making a powerful statement like that made by Trump tonight.
Neither could I. I think it’s because the Trucons and Rinos don’t actually love the American people like Trump does and Reagan did before him.
Those who still want to debate “true” conservatism need to understand that the first and most important characteristic of a true conservative is the ability to realize the real danger of the true enemy, and then to devise an effective plan to overcome that.
Words are meaningless when this perspective is not the foundation of conservative politics.
In this case, I would say that liberal-sponsored entitlement and political correctness run amok (combined with the threat of radical Islam) are the true dangers. Trump has a comprehensive plan to confront these problems and while it will obviously not be easy to reverse the drift of several decades, the alternatives are either denial or further harmful wrong-headed doubling down of past mistakes.
At this point, I think the remaining hostility to Trump among Republicans broadly speaking must come down to jealousy — he did what they could not do, either this year or in the past. This would be an awful excuse for standing off to one side in these historic times, and the reward for that choice will be perpetual shame (and the end of careers or tarnishing of reputations) especially if Trump were to lose because of this lack of unity.
As I used to say to them: After Donald J. Trump finishes doing all the things he has promised: build the wall, deport illegals and Syrian invaders, cancel Obamas unconstitutional executive orders, roll back twenty years of intrusive government regulations, prosecute Hillary and her crew, release the secret 28 pages from the 9/11 report, negotiate prescription drug purchases, repeal and replace Obamacare, simplify the Tax code, repatriate $2.5 trillion in off-shore profits, stop the IRS from abridging the free speech of Christian Churches, reform the libel laws to remove the public figure distinctions, defund Planned Parenthood until they stop doing abortions, cleaning up the mess that is the VA, cutting waste, fraud and abuse where ever it is found, canceling Common Core and returning control of education to the States, end the assault on the Second Amendment, audit the Federal Reserve System, investigate the harmful additives in Vaccines and the coverup of studies at the CDC, and destroy the culture of Political Correctness, then we can talk about all the Conservative issues that need to be addressed.
