Birthday people are entitled to make and use their own words!

Totally unrelated story. We raised our kids to not swear. No bad language, no "ass," even. One year, for Christmas, we gave them the right to use one swear word, one time. They pondered for a couple weeks, what to use, and how to use it. We taped the big day. It was pretty funny! They were nervous, apprehensive, and after uttering their forbidden sentence, they were positively giddy. They remember that to this day, and for the most part, don't swear.

What a wonderful story and memory.

And a great way to handle the “to swear or not to swear” problem.
