In this song, the listener might think the The King is Elvis, and then again, the listener might think The King is Christ.

I know you are younger than me so I understand your not know of who I refer.

Back in my day, the King could only mean Elvis, the King of R&R.

Now, I would have to say, I would think of the King in a more spiritual way and certainly nothing to do with R&R.
