I don’t go to many ballgames anymore. And one reason is the constant din of hard rock music played at a loud volume.

What’s with this walk up music in baseball?

And what’s with playing hard rock or rap? Whatever happened to the stadium organist playing organ music between innings??

Marching bands at football games will soon go the way of the stadium organist at baseball games. Nearly every college football game that I have been to in recent years has featured loud disco, rap and heavy metal. However, I once went to a UCLA home game and was pleasantly surprised to hear the music of Vera Lynn, of all people.

Maybe because they would like a demographic younger than 80. There is a great scene from the movie "Parental Guidance" that explains this perfectly. Billy Crystal is an aging minor league baseball announcer that gets fired for being to old school.

Artie gets fired
