Because Russia doesn't subscribe to the NWO agenda of the CFR/PNAC/WSJ/et al., Putin and Russia are like Hitler or Stalin and despotic and tyrannical, and, and,... And when Russia steps in to protect a secular government in Syria which protects Christians from Islamist slaughter, well, see we told you Putin and Russia is like Hitler and/or Stalin. I read some discussion about how there is now evidence that the CIA is supporting jihadis in the Philippines to weaken President Rodrigo Duterte, who Western media compares to Trump. But the support is not Abu Sayyaf, just the good jihadis. But of course, the U.S. takes the position that Duterte brought it on himself, after all he called U.S. Ambassador Phil Goldberg "an annoying gay son of a bitch" and called Secretary Kerry "crazy". Our foreign policy has now become one, large, demonic power play.

Russia resents having always been treated as second tier, which they would be in the NWO. I don't think Putin's motives are heavily influenced by Christian vs Muslim. Russia and Putin are complicated. Think relations with Iran. I do not fully understand the game of US-Iran and Russia-Iran relations.
