A man suspected of gunning down a Queens imam and his friend outside a mosque was taken into custody Sunday night by cops who believe the killer was an experienced shooter, sources said.
An NYPD Regional Fugitive Task Force was doing “brief surveillance” on a suspect in Queens when he rammed an unmarked cop car, sources said.
He was taken into custody for questioning, according to the sources.
Police officials could not confirm whether a suspect was in custody.

In a future press conference the cops will praise GREAT police work by a myriad police divisions, agencies, etc. while anyone who pays attention knows that tips from the public is what solves almost every crime.

There are a number of factors to consider such as "was he a white Hispanic?" His best bet as a Hispanic to elevate his victim status would have been to change his name from Juan to Mohammad though.
To be fair, the cops might be aiming at targets that are either moving or shooting back, which makes it harder.
