This sounds like a semi-professional hit. I suspect the roots of this go back to Bangladesh.

In 1971, Pakistan, then called West Pakistan, invaded Bangladesh and committed a horrific genocide. It was particularly brutal and nasty, with as many as 3 million people killed.

Some groups within Bangladesh joined with the invaders to slaughter their own countrymen. Then after the genocide, nothing really happened to the collaborators until 2008-2010, when there was enough political shift to create a war crimes tribunal, which is ongoing.

Some 1,600 identified suspects were implicated, and there was huge amounts of bad blood, with the still extant radical organizations demanding their leaders be released.

Back to today. This Imam arrived from Bangladesh about two years ago. It is not obvious which sect (of many) this mosque is affiliated with. But if it becomes known, then it will be easier to know who their friends and enemies are.

Company, black flag.
A very convenient hit, to set up an attack on Trump by a righteous muslim. It would shape the narrative nicely.
