Clinton is hiding, plain and simple. She has very few “rallies”, or any kind of events. Most of her fundraisers are hosted by others, most of her organizing events are also hosted by others. Her strategy is to let the media do her campaigning for her.
It’s not unusual for candidates to lay low particularly in August. In 2012 neither Romney or 0bama did any big campaign events, contented themselves with doing fundraising, relaxing, and small campaign events.
Trump and Pence are both out there most days having rallies, and speaking to various groups, and we’ve gotten accustomed to their level of activity.
I suspect that Clinton will continue with the small events, and allow the media to hammer away at Trump all the way thru at least September. If Trump wins the first debate, we might see a change, but as of now, she’s hiding out both from the media and the voters.
I don’t think that many people really want to vote for her. They just haven’t seen enough of the reassuring, friendly presidential side of Trump to feel comfortable with anyone else.
