The metric system was actually foisted upon us by Trudeau the Elder. It is sooo European and has the added bonus of making comparisons with the past more difficult (see Orwell, 1984)
"Gas is sold by the litre (quart) and in Canada is currently priced at: $1.05/l ie: $4.00!"
Actually .91 a litre Canadian today. Works out to US$2.81. The difference is taxes.
"Cheese, meat, some produce is sold by the gram, ie: theres 28 grams to the ounce."
You can buy it by the pound or the kilo.
"EVERYTHING is So Damn expensive there due to disgusting taxation at every level of production."
Taxes are higher in Canada (not corporate taxes) but as for things being "so damn expensive". I don't think so. I'm going to Kroger today so I'll let you know.
There are some things that are A LOT cheaper in Canada. You can get a four year University education here for about $25,000 in tuition, total. That's $6,000 A YEAR, but most Americans don't want to hear about that. Strangely, both of my kids graduated and are working in Michigan. Seems to be a shortage of engineers and nurses in the US.
But we have free Healthcare and our Marxist schools are Sooo cheap...
Your overall gov’t tax burden is OUTRAGEOUS, ie: 50+% when you include the income tax, province & city taxes, no mortgage tax deduction at all, gov’t fees, fuel / gas tax, and the damned VAT tax at every production phase grossly drives up the final product price for the end consumer.
https://www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living/quebec-city
*Quebec City has lower cost of living than Montreal or Toronto. These are the current reported prices which I also found to be the case when there recently:
*Note: Meats and animal products have gone SKY HIGH likely due to Canada implementing social engineering initiative to make animal products too expensive to purchase, per outright UN recommendation!
500 gr (1 lb.) of boneless chicken breast C$8 <-!
1 liter (1 qt.) of whole milk C$1.85 <- $7/Gal!
12 eggs, large C$3.40!
1 kg (2 lb.) of tomatoes C$5.22
500 gr (16 oz.) of local cheese C$15 <-!
1 kg (2 lb.) of apples C$4.12
1 kg (2 lb.) of potatoes C$2.88
0.5 l (16 oz) domestic beer supermarket C$2.33
Canada - on the cutting edge of socialist social engineering, and proud of it, Eh.
CA universities (like McGill) are Soooo much cheaper because their professors and administrators work for peanuts - not!
Your schools are Heavily subsidized by Huge gov’t taxes which fool LIV’s into believing things are reasonable.
Poor slobs then bitch about how little they have left from their paychecks and savings to be able to afford cost of living, ie: food, fuel, consumer products.
