This will not be my first encounter with Trump. Years ago, I was in Las Vegas with my wife walking between the Luxor and Mandalay Bay casinos and there was Trump walking right towards us with a small entourage. I immediately recognized him and waved to him. He waved back with a big smile and said "How're you doing today" and that was about that. I'm guessing he was on his way to the airport (which was right across the street).
Most billionaires would not have even acknowledged you.
Trump seems to be a genuinely nice person.
“It is a bit ironic. My office is a five minute walk from Trump’s residence on Fifth Avenue. I walk by or through Trump Tower just about every workday. Yet here he is coming tonight just 20 minutes from my house.”
Sounds similar to us. When Reagan died, our house backed on to the Reagan Library grounds. We easily could’ve walked up the hill to see him lying in state, but it wasn’t permitted. It required a half-hour drive to the college where the shuttles were transporting people.
We tried to do that, but the stand-still traffic jam on the 118 went for miles. We never did get there.
That’s great that you and your wife get to attend a Trump Rally. Tell your wife not to worry because they keep the protesters far away from attendees. There were fairly large protests at the one I attended. I was in line early and never saw a single protester. We were lined up in a gated parking lot and they were out on the street. I only saw them later on the news.
Looking forward to your observations. Enjoy!
