The USSS is adamant about no water bottles in the venue, to the detriment of the crowds safety or health. Granted, water was available in the back of the venue. People arent going to wait in line for hours on end, only to give up their position at the last minute to get a bit of water. Human nature. That's exactly right. I got a standing spot just 20 feet away from the podium. No way was I giving that spot up for a cup of water. I survived!
I wish they had let us bring bottled water in to have with us. I guess the Secret Service is concerned that a protester would throw one at Trump. But we all had our cellphones. I'm sure a hurled cellphone would hurt too. Hopefully I didn't give anybody any ideas.

Think about it... is it really water? What if the liquid is thrown at him? Can’t take that chance.

Sam, if they had bottled water available at the back of the venue why could they not hand it out as one entered??
