You can’t be serious. The House has all the authority it needs and does not need to refer an investigation to the Executive. If Congress believed Clinton lied to a committee they could find her in contempt and imprison her.

Yes, Ray. I am.
Congress can hold a person in contempt if that person obstructs proceeding for refusing to testify or refusing to provide documents or answers..among other issues.

However, A Republican Congress on its own jailing the Felon running for office even when deserved would be the biggest election story ever and be magnifed by the prejudiced media as purely political. A 24/7 assault on Republicans would result. No other story would matter.

Under the conditions existing now, an FBI incrimination of her would ruin her just as Nixon was destroyed by his own misdeeds as uncovered by an independent investigation of a special Prosecutor. The political angle was removed; and thus, his downfall resulted.
