It is “Party Law.”
If your with someone who commits a crime you are guilty.
I was being questioned for a jury back in the 90’s.
It was about a guy that was driving a car where the other guy broke into a house.
The Judge asked if anyone had any questions, so I asked about “what if it is a bus full of Nuns and the bus driver robs a 7-11?
The Judge dismissed me and I have never been asked to be on a jury again.
LOL; I wish I had been there to see that happen!
that was a stupd question- unless the nuns were aware of the crime and supported it.
If a guy drives a murderer to commit the act then he should get the death penalty too.
You are lucky the judge didn’t cite you for contempt. You making a snarky stupid point. I agree with the judge’s decision to throw you off the jury, though I suppose the defense attorney wished you had been retained.
Stupid, sophomoric argument. First, the prosecutor wouldn't bring charges, second, the grand jury wouldn't indict. Finally, the jury wouldn't convict. On top of it all, any prosecutor that did bring charges would be made to look like a flaming moron in every election for the rest of his life.
Yea, being an accomplice hooks you up to the final crime. If you agree to rob a store and drive the car and the guy inside smokes the clerk, you’re on the hook for murder.
It’s an old common law rule from 500 years ago, it’s nothing new.
