Revolt TV interviewed former U.S. Attorney, former Massachusetts governor and current Libertarian vice presidential candidate William Weld. Chief Political Correspondent Amrit Singh asked Weld about his views on guns. Specifically, whether or not people on the governments secret, unaccountable Terrorist Watch List should be able to purchase assault rifles. [ ]
The five shot rifle, thats a standard military rifle; the problem is if you attach a clip to it so it can fire more shells and if you remove the pin so that it becomes an automatic weapon, and those are independent criminal offenses. That is when they become, essentially a weapon of mass destruction. The problem with handguns probably is even worse than the problem of the AR15. [ ]As governor of Massachusetts when the gun control laws mentioned were implemented, Mr. Weld should know that MA doesnt ban clips. It bans ammunition magazines commonly called magazines.
Mr. Weld should know that Massachusetts magazine capacity law contains no provision regarding a magazines insertion into a rifle. Simple possession is illegal.

When I was in JROTC in high school we drilled with M-1 Garands (eight shot semi-auto). They would be illegal in Massachusetts.
In flux mode, I can shoot the nuts off a gnat at 50 feet with my dangerous handgun. Unfortunately, like a flamethrower it also destroys everything in its path within 50 feet and beyond.
I wonder how this Weld found out about our clips, pins and plasma wonder weapons.
He’s obviously an intellectual, because it takes an intellectual to be able to join to incongruent thought and put them together as one.
Pro-amnesty, anti-2nd amendment? Not sure how that makes these 2 libertarian. Always considered myself about 80% libertarian but Johnson and Weld just sound like moderate democrats.
What the heck kind of Libertarian is he supposed to be?
He’s a moron!
How about that shoulder thing that goes up?
Tucker Carlson needs to ask Weld about that.
That’s why I like to hunt with an “Assault Rifle”, if there’s no game, I just read the magazine.
I this were just ignorance i wouldn’t mind...but if you want to be a president, stupidity is not a desirable characteristic.

I wish people would realize, there is no “assault rifle” legally available in this country. Assault rifle, according to what I’ve been able to look up, is one that has select fire capability, in other words, can be full or semi auto. .
Also, it’s a myth that you can simply add or remove a part and presto, you have an automatic rifle. Again, according to my admittedly meager research, usually it involves a lot more than just swapping out a part or two.
The distinction between magazine and clip is something I don’t worry too much about, I’ve known plenty people who use the two terms interchangeably. Myself included.
Weld wouldn’t know a “weapon of mass destruction” if one jumped up and bit him on his jack ass. The boy is retarded.
What an effing retard.
You have to be careful, I imagine, so you don't sink any nearby entire US Navy carrier groups...
I normally vote Libertarian if there is no decent, electable candidate. There is no chance that I would vote for this alleged Libertarian ticket. Weld is exactly the big government puke you would expect Massachusetts to produce, and Johnson is not much better. If the Libertarian party wants to be taken seriously they need to field candidates that are actually libertarian.
It’s that parties main problem, being infiltrated with statists and commies using for cover so as to not be labeled a ‘Rat.
Libertarians were all in her gay marriage are all in the for imposing that baker be forced the cake and now want to take away the Second Amendment ...what kind of Libertarians are these
yeah a hundred years ago. The 1903 Springfield had a 5 round capacity.
what is this guy on ?
Didn’t he lose to Mitt Romney in the primary for governor in 92 or something like that where is Google oh ...
Really?, holy cow, this is a libertarian ticket?
What next, Jill Stein’s platform, a selective fire rifle in every house?
sHrillery; becoming honest.
Trump turning the other cheek and introverted.
Yet another butt head who knows absolutely nothing about firearms - and wants to make all related national decisions based on his personal ignorance.
I am so sick of this “civilians have no right to military style weapons.” The US vs Miller case did state that the government could “ban” a certain type of weapon. However, the reason for the ban is that a short barrel shotgun has “no military value” and thus could be banned. Thus, what the government and the media are not telling anyone is that the “weapons” that are guaranteed citizens are to be allowed to have to “Keep and bear” are MILITARY TYPE WEAPONS that are to be owned as “members of the unregulated militia, that is every male between the ages of sixteen and Fifty. In short, the AR-15 and any so-called “assault rifles” that everyone is trying to ban is precisely the type of weapon that is “protected” by both the second amendment and the Supreme Court “Miller” decision. We are being governed by, and “informed” by idiots and liars. and that AG’s actions are unconstitutional and illegal. Period.
