Priebus is caught in a dilemma. His heart is strongly with the GOPe. But the people who make up the party are rejecting that. Trump is handling him well. Praises him, etc. The party HAS TO facilitate putting Trump's name on all the state ballots. The rest is, I think, up to Trump.

One interesting dynamic is that Trump has been pretty effective at raising money for the party. He can stop that effort, and I think GOP coffers would dry up except for the big money donors. That gets the spit into the wide open. Big donors and their bought and paid for political actors vs. the people, led by Mr. Trump. That is the split now, it just isn't stark - yet.

The BIG Dynamic is the fact that Trump keeps rolling out people who will be in his council, or at the White House, or in high level positions and very few are POLITICIANS!

BAM!

They not only have their noses bent out of shape but most importantly worried about their full pockets now and most likely empty when he becomes President.
