Ibtijaj? Where do I even begin trying to pronounce that?
Would ‘Ibby’ be acceptable? I didn’t think so. Like many people with unpronounceable names, they want to see you struggle with it, so’s they can caustically correct you.

That happened to me once in a Diversity Class at my company. I introduced myself using my Americanized name. The lady next to me introduced herself using her ethnic name. I mispronounced her name and she insisted that I repeat it until I got it correct. After that I told her to pronounce my proper name that is very, very very Dutch and I told she had to repeat it until SHE got it correct. She STFU after that.
