I recall when Carter was president. Carter was a pure, holier than thou kind of guy. Carter was very publicly "Do it my way or else" kind of guy.
Well, his own party in Congress hated Carter and sabotaged his every move. Carter was an unqualified failure as a president.
As one Democratic Congressman said at the time (I forget who it was), "I was here before Carter and I will be here after Carter." That about sums it up.
Trump is entering a world of compromise. That is the reality. Ronald Reagan wasn't bothered by compromise. He often said that it's OK if he doesn't get everything because he will come back the next time and get just a little bit more.
Do you think we got to where we are today overnight. It has been an 80 year journey for the democrats. They are patient and play the game. They are happy to get just a little bit each time and over decades they have gotten practically everything.
It won't be reversed in 4 years or 8 years. But we can start.
And Obama has compromised? Really? You have to be living in some type of zone.
Whats the fav rating for CONgress now?
