I’m sure you’re right. Trump knew he would need to convert these Cruz voters to support him against Crooked Hillary by coming out to vote for him in Nov. instead of just staying home in protest. So extending an olive branch by endorsing their beloved congressman Ryan who was going to win anyway was a good political move.

Why would Ryan go to Trump's rally? Trump had just sent a "shout out" to Ryan's primary opponent and then delivered a "witty" insult that he (Trump) wasn't "there" yet in endorsing the sitting Speaker of the House.

Ryan wasn't going to show up at the rally to give Trump another chance to go off script to insult him again.
