When I was stationed in San Diego in 1989 I bought a Norinco AK-47, 3 30 round mags and 500 rounds of ammo for about $350. No waiting period and no background check. I was even thinking of staying in California when I got out of the navy. Luckily I didn’t. I still have the Norinco.

Nice...in 92 I walked out of the Cow Palace (in SF of all places) with an M1 Carbine, a Garand, and full kit for both for 650. Guy next to me was pushing a cart of 10 SKSs he’d got for 59.95 a piece...I tell people that now (especially younger folk) and their jaws drop lol
