I think you may have missed the point here. Zero has set the precedent. Trump does not need Congress. They have made themselves irrelevant.
That’s not the point here, but your scenario is also a possibility which really makes Trump’s endorsement a non-issue.
‘I think you may have missed the point here. Zero has set the precedent. Trump does not need Congress. They have made themselves irrelevant.’
The way I look at it -
Zero’s illegal acts, such as usurping the presidency, by-passing congress all the time, ignoring court’s ruling, do not ‘precedent’ make. Rather they are reminders of what NOT to do for all subsequent presidents.
President Trump will need a co-operative Congress to get things done.
For Trump to be elected the president, he needs all the help he can get - even the good old network boys at DC.
It’d be wise of him to act strategically towards the ultimate goal - get to the oval office, then work within the constitutional limits to put the country back onto the right path.
You are forgetting that Ryan and Boehner and their ilk have actually fought Zero less than they would Trump. Trump wants to shake things up, and that is the last thing a majority of Congress wants to see happen. If Trump tries to go around Congress, it will suddenly be a Constitutional crisis where they just let Zero get away with it.
