Well, we are in uncharted territory here, if we have a president who doesn’t have a wife.
Remember when Lindsay Graham was a pres. candidate? The confirmed bachelor Graham said he would have a “rotating first lady”, in which various women relatives of his would fill that role if he became president.
So, are we to believe that Bill isn’t up to being “first lady” or “presidential spouse” and doing that ceremonial duty???
When will the feminists start bitching about this??? Because isn’t it then sexist, in the context of having a woman president, that she would have another woman relative, in this case her daughter, being the “first lady”??? why does the first lady have to be a woman, rather than the husband of the woman president filling that role??
I can hear the feminists bitching already.
but I hope and pray we never have to find out what would happen in a HIllary White House with the role of first lady, if you get my meaning............
1. So can I. Ugh. Camille Pagia's voice/face isn't something I'm looking forward to.
2. Amen.
I GET your meaning.
There have been Presidents without wives. Its only been recently that the Presidential wife been a thing to consider on the ballot. The drunken ole cod, Ulysses S. Grant, did not have a wife whilst he was in office. That’s off the top of my head, if a little more research is done you will find maybe one or two more. Uncharted territory because a President doesn’t have a wife - not even close. Been there, done that and the country has moved on.
Grover Cleveland got married while POTUS.
It appears that James Buchanan, predecessor to Lincoln, remained unmarried until his death, though engaged once in his twenties at some point.
” I hope and pray we never have to find out what would happen in a HIllary White House with the role of first lady, if you get my meaning............”
Amen. This discussion shouldn’t even be happening. I”m putting my hands over my ears and chanting lalalalalalalala.
