An African-American woman was being harassed by a cop to the point she felt the need to call 911. This upset the cop, who then decided to arrest her. Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, breaks it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
Newly released video disputes police claims about a black social workers violent arrest earlier this year while talking to a 911 dispatcher during a traffic stop in Houston.
A police officer pulled over Earledreka White in March for crossing the double white line, and she called 911 to ask for police backup because she was afraid of the officer who stopped her, reported the Houston Chronicle.
I would like another officer to come out here, she says to the dispatcher. My heart is racing. Im really afraid.
The 28-year-old White was placed in handcuffs and charged with resisting arrest during the encounter, and then jailed for two days where she feared she might end up dead like Sandra Bland, another black woman arrested in Texas following a routine traffic stop.
White said she remained calm throughout the encounter, and she has accused the officer of unnecessarily escalating the situation.*

With modern cops.
You bow.
You scrape.
You show your papers.
You say yes, sir, alright sir.
Like a good peon.
I saw that video and I agreed with her since the officer’s “reason” for the traffic stop was that she’d “crossed the double white line” which was painted inside the parking lot...on private property.
She had cause to worry for her safety and the fact that the cowboy didn’t call another officer to the scene as both back up and to make the woman feel better speaks to his lack of common sense.
Now the idiot is on video being an idiot and his department is going to have to pay out a settlement.
Cop haters on FR?
Don’t we have enough dead cops for 2016?
Go call Obama.
Way too general.
You’re scum.
Cop haters?
There are way way too many dead cops, and I think black lives matter (sic) should be named a terrorist organisation and shut down.
Still as a conservative with a libertarian leaning, I do not appreciate the way the police is evolving.
Increased militarization and all the rest.
There seems to be an attitude of hostility against the public.
Many cops are no longer peace officers imho.
And, since I am Norwegian I can say we have similar issues here.
I’ve been told that the cops can’t even write a ticket on private property like a grocery parking lot. What was he even doing trying police a parking lot?
This reminds me of people who jump on threads about animal abuse and start talking about how much worse abortion is. Guess what? People can be 100% opposed to abortion **AND ALSO** be opposed to animal abuse.
Likewise, people can 100% support law enforcement **AND ALSO** despise law enforcement officers who abuse their power, lie about their behavior, and terrorize citizens.
It’s not an either/or option.
“Dont we have enough dead cops for 2016?”
Not enough, according to the resident cop haters.
A resisting charge is slapped on just for fun and any 'failure to' or possible 'reaching for' can make an officer 'fearful' and you can lose your life.
Well thank you for that well thought out and elucidating response.
Sincerely yours,
Scum from Europe. Euroscum I suppose.

Sounds like you are in Norway commentating on the supposed police brutality in America. If so, are you sure you aren’t fed long distance lies by the hostile enemedia?
Wish there was another source to watch the video without having to wade past Stinky Wigger.
Why would you believe a word the elite media tells you?
Sounds like you are part of the problem. I grew up in a police family (father was 35 year vet, latter years with K9). I helped train K9 dogs by putting on the leather suit. Been close and around police all my life.
My opinion is things have really changed. My father could whip his weight in alligators and was way loath to pull his sidearm. Today, it is practically the first thing that comes out.
I've never gotten a speeding ticket in my life (over 60)... but I can tell you I would be nervous today being pulled over.
Everyone is jumpy and the police have a right to be. But they still need to clean up some of the mess that we have evolved into. Some things have become common practice in policing that have helped drive us into our current situation.
Maybe.
I get most of my American news from here at freerepublic, and I have lived in America for a couple of years.
And, for the record in those years I have only great things to say about cops.
I was involved in a felony (against me), and the police were absolutely great. It was really comforting as a foreigner.
But, I have read here for many years on the keyword donut watch keyword.
The law enforment officers constitute one of the most important pillars of a civilized society. They have a lot of power, and as the founding fathers realised, there must be checks and balances.
Somebody need to watch the watchers...
the law should be instructive, not punitive, especially for such high crimes as "crossing the double white line" or such pap...
Takk for a vise oss, min venn.
Det var så lite.
Jeg er glad for å være til hjelp :D
