I was at a “sensitivity training” session for teachers in Brooklyn, NY back in the late ‘80’s and we were being asked to consider how we behave (in terms of our body language) when we see a group of young black males coming our way. The group leader asked, “Do you tense up? You women, do you hold your bag just a little tighter?” One of the black females present responded, “I know I do!”
If you are walking down the street and see a pit bull on the loose coming your way, are you more inclined to cross the street than if it were a tail wagging black lab?
Ooops... is black lab racist?
We have three black families in our neighborhood, one of whom with which I am well acquainted. They told they specifically moved to our neighborbood to get away from other blacks.
