Despite conservatives perceptions, conservative media exists in a small, ineffectual bubble. One of the more interesting developments since the emergence of the Web as a mass medium is the establishment of a conservative media presence. Prior to the Internet, there were basically no large-audience right-wing media operations aside from a few talk-radio programs.
Since the 1996 establishment of Fox News and the popularization of the Web, it has now become possible for a conservatively inclined people to consume all kinds of news and opinion catering to their specific tastes and viewpoints. Many right-leaning people have hailed this development, believing that they have finally defeated the hated liberal media. They suppose that because they can now obtain their news entirely from conservative-leaning media that this is what others do as well.
They couldnt be more mistaken.
While the conservative-media constellation is far larger than it once was, its audience is completely dwarfed by the left-leaning mainstream media. People who are very conservative love right-wing media outlets. No one else appears to, not even Republicans who are somewhat conservative.
The fact that a majority of average Americans has never even heard of the Rights biggest stars like Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck is a perfect illustration that Republican political junkies live in a media bubble. Conservative activists who dislike GOP nominee Donald Trump are constantly asking themselves how their party could elect an inexperienced bomb-thrower who constantly messes up. The relatively small influence of right-wing blogs and talk radio is part of the answer. Trump-hating hosts like Mark Levin and Glenn Beck bashed Trump daily on their programs for months. Their criticism had no effect, however, because the only people tuning in were those who already agreed. (It didnt help that their denunciations were completely hypocritical and politically motivated as well.)

They’re just another set of apologists for the political establishment. There are better left-wing publications out there: why bother with mainstream neo-liberal tripe? I can read NYT ir WaPo if I want globalist commentary.
That’s why we all jumped on the Trump Train.
Trump can break through and get noticed and get votes.
That’s why the elites want Trump to become “presidential” and not get that attention so they can defeat him.
Very interesting analysis. Explains a lot.
thanks for posting.
Thanks for posting those 2 articles....shows what we are dealing with. You know what’s really vile: they informed their readership that they would “link” all their old posts with their real names once the FaceBook switch was done. Of course they did this to try & expose & harm people who posted their real thoughts & open them up to possible trouble with work or whatever & make sure the conservatives stopped posting.
How does anyone explain how a woman who has spawned scandal, corruption, lies, deceit, law breaking, and moral and ethical bankruptcy while in the political limelight for almost three decades is ahead in the race for President in 2016?
What does it say about a political party who would nominate someone with her record to run on their ticket?
It defies logic and explanation, but yet its reality.
Obviously, theres a whole other world out there that thinks very, very differently than you and I do.
It doesn’t really surprise me. After all we are talking about the Slave Party and the fellow travelling communist Democrat Party.
What I didn’t expect was so called conservatives and patriots to go AWOL in the battle against Filthy Rotten Clinton. Now THAT has been a surprise.
The problem is that the folks that liked the Bushes are comfortable with the Clintons.
The problem is that the folks that liked the Bushes are comfortable with the Clintons.
Yep. I don’t see how you can ever repair this fracture in the GOP. The policy difference is too great between the Pro-American wing and the globalist wing of the GOP. Now that it is clear that the GOPe has no interest in substantive opposition to the Democrat-Corportist agenda it ceases to have a reason to exist. RIP GOP.
Hell, the Bushes seem to like the Clintons.
If the temper tantrum of the Anti-Trump right costs us this election, I see no reason to vote for the GOP ever again. Let the GOP-E get wiped out by the left over the next couple of election cycles. The things that matter would have already been lost for now anyway.
When the GOP-E is gone maybe the true conservative right can reassemble and start over. The principles of individual economic, political and religious liberty will still be there. I know the battle will be much harder then, but maybe the battlefield will be more receptive too.
Trump got more Republican primary votes then anyone ever. If the GOP-E can' t support that...and we lose because of it...we don't have a party anyways. Don't make conservative purity the enemy of the good.
Three months to go. We have every chance to prevail. And the left couldn't have given us an easier opponent.
To the GOP-E, and I must include Holdonnow in this category for this rant, suck it up and genuinely support and help the party's nominee with everything you got. Your power base depends on us and it will be taken away by us if you do not. Collateral damage notwithstanding.
...well over 70 million Americans are using mind-altering drugs. And that number doesnt include abusers of alcohol, which adds an additional 60 million Americans. So were really talking about 130 million strung-out Americans.

It wasn't because there was no audience for it, there was an ideological blacklist.
In about 12 months I moved from Republican to Independent to Barn-Burner. The most important thing we can do to save the Republic is to end the Republican Party.
The leftist slaveholders must be defeated and if the Republicans can’t or won’t resist, they need to be replaced.
But in the vast middle of those with mixed political views, a full 45 percent had no idea who (Rush) Limbaugh was.
Good lord.
That is true.
But it's too late to do it this cycle.
This cycle, it's Trump or bust!
Anyone not onboard is the enemy!
That's why the folks at NRO and the rest of the Establishment are so worried.
The surprise to me is that, despite unprecedented access to all kinds of information via the WWW, a great many people have no clue what differentiates a conservative and a liberal. They just believe conservative = bad, liberal = good.
Maybe it's because the "so-called" conservatives we've thrown our weight behind have not governed as conservatives and have blurred the lines. Maybe it's because of the constant onslaught against conservative principles that has gone on for decades in the media and in schools. Maybe liberals have perfected the act of acting like conservatives while running, yet governing true to form as liberals. It's a combination of many factors.
If you watch Jesse Watters on FNC and his interviews with every day people, you understand what we're dealing with and it ain't pretty.
I'm not surprised at all. Rush is preaching to the choir. I catch Jesse Watter's, FNC, interviews with the common folks once in a while, and it's absolutely mind boggling and frightening how ignorant some people are, despite free K-12 education and the free flow of information.
You can see how easy it is for a demagogue like Nobama to sway the masses.
I stopped reading after that stupid statement.
