I had a (sometimes heated) argument with a friend yesterday. He started in on the “Trump gaffed” re: Khan-Con. His contention was that he was taking enough heat from the left so he shouldn’t antagonize his base on the right.
My contention was (is) that phoney’s like flake and McShame aren’t on his side, have never been on his side, and will back-stab him if given half a chance. So it’s better the devil you know. Why “make nice” to saboteurs?
I don’t know if a presidential candidate has ever waged war on two fronts like Trump is doing, or if he will prevail but I applaud him for the courage and sheer chutzpah to take them on.
I immediately thought of Taft, Roosevelt and Wilson.
