I’m a software contractor on the PTC project on a competing railroad, I won’t say which it is, but hoo boy. I had wondered why the railroads were not forming some kind of development consortium. Now I think I know why. If you don’t do it in house, you never know quite what is going to be in it. I don’t think I would want to touch BNSF’s software with a ten mile pole.
