Post 86 is where I last left off on the headlines list. Will post latest list of newest headlines later. For the first time, Drudge has posted a few investigative links on KMK.
~~~~~~
The purpose of this post today is to start a timeline. I begin with Humayun Khan because there is the most confirmed data/date points about the family.
NOTE to Maggief: Humayun and elder brother Shaharyar were both born in UAE. Omer was born in USA, but I can’t find where or when. Do you have time to search? Also, where/when did Omer go to college?
ALSO: Most articles are quick to place the city of KMK’s entrance into the USA in 1979/1980 as Silver Springs, MD. Based on the details in the NYT article, I think it was Houston, TX. Therefore, I am looking for all data/dates/employment/writings re: KMK in Houston TX.
FINALLY: Where did KMK get his law degree in the US? Can anyone find a primary source that it was from Harvard Law???
Best source is that it was from Missouri
I just posted:
IMO, It is useless to move on with the timeline until we have these data/date points nailed down.
Primary sources and url links please!
Khizr M Khan
1951 - Born (deduced from Arlington article above)
1974 - bachelor of law degree from Punjab University Law College in Lahore, Pakistan (also where Khizr met his wife Gazala)
BUT, there is this:
Mr. Khan met his wife at Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan. They moved to Dubai, where their two eldest sons were born, ***then arrived in Houston,*** renting a $200-a-month apartment. Eventually they settled outside Washington, where Mr. Khan worked at a mortgage company and law firms.
SOURCE QUOTES THAT MAY BE HELPFUL:
“Like many immigrants, we came to this country empty-handed. We believed in American democracy; that with hard work and goodness of this country, we could share in and contribute to its blessings,” the father, Khizr Khan, said during his speech Thursday night at the Democratic convention.
If restrictions on Muslim immigration had been in place decades ago, Mr. Khan said, neither he, a lawyer with an advanced degree from Harvard Law School; his wife, Ghazala, who taught Persian at a Pakistani college before raising three boys in the Washington suburbs; their eldest son, Shaharyar, who was a top student at the University of Virginia and a co-founder of a biotechnology company; nor Captain Khan, who posthumously earned the Bronze Star, along with a Purple Heart, for saving the lives of his men, would have been allowed to settle here.
A third son, Omer, who works at his brother’s biotech company, was born in the United States.
Mr. Khan met his wife at Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan. They moved to Dubai, where their two eldest sons were born, then arrived in Houston, renting a $200-a-month apartment. Eventually they settled outside Washington, where Mr. Khan worked at a mortgage company and law firms.
