I agree with you that he needs to show wisdom in the way that he responds. That was my point. I do not disagree with what Trump said but the media is portraying him as hotheaded and not presidential. That's all they care about so he has to turn it around on them.
The media is going to give him rotten tomatoes about anything it can.
Might as well be hanged for being a lion as for being a sheep, or something like that.
Remember, most people (i.e. mostly Trump supporters) hate the media even more than politicians and lawyers.
