If the government really wanted to tackle noise, they'd fix the HUGE mess FAA created with it's "NextGen" flight route changes in major metroplexes all over the US. Millions of citizens are furious about aircraft highways being built right over there heads where none existed before. All to benefit the airlines with possibly faster routes and to reduce carbon output.

It's totally ridiculous to tackle noise where this is no problem (offshore) and ignore the huge noise problem they created in cities, towns, and suburbs all over the US.

Thanks to this monstrosity of government meddling, I'm now in the flight path of both O'Hare and Midway airport. I seldom used to see planes out my way below 20,000 feet. In the last six months they're maybe 3,000 feet up and it's constant noise!

They're so low, I can hear the pilots talking to air traffic control over my stereo!
