Did this chap envision the infiltration of Muslims? In 20/20 hindsight, I do not know how this force could have been missed. Maybe we took for granted how a much stronger Judeo-Christian ethos of that day tended to repel them from the US territories and never envisioned how they would want to do anything other than avoid us.
At any rate we have a rude spiritual wake up call amongst us now. We can’t deal with this mindset as “A religion of peace” because although individual Muslims may elide the bellicose parts for a season or even all their own personal lives, these parts are always there to receive them later at a suitable demonic spiritual nudge.
Marine General Chesty Puller died in 1971 so he didn't specifically foresee that Islam would be the force arising to fulfill his prediction.
But he was wise enough to see the trends that would lead to a weakness in western culture and a corresponding rise in some more militant culture.
Truthfully, I believe he (and other truly great Americans of his age) would be absolutely disgusted by the events of the last 25 years and deeply saddened at the horribly low quality of the leaders Americans have elected.
Doubtful. General Puller was simply stating a truth, viz. that when America becomes weak and is led by cowards (Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, O'Dummy) we become a target. Weakness and cowardice always invites aggression. Only fools like the liberals are blind to this.
