I read about either that guy or someone else like him that the FBI kept insisting that things he saw weren’t what he saw. I wish I remembered his name but his story is out there. Just need to do a bit of research to find it again.
I think you may be remembering a witness (one of MANY) who saw the downing of TWA800? Even I remember seeing the video on the news showing two missile-looking things in the sky going UP to the plane.
I believe you are remembering a park policeman at Fort Marcy Park named “Patrick”, IIRC. Nonetheless, a Ft. Marcy park employee who discovered the scene.
