I am fairly certain that Walmart specifically prohibits employees from chasing shoplifters out of the store, which appears to be the case.

These employees really screwed the pooch.

Most commercial liability insurance policies specifically prohibit this. This is why if you try to chase a shoplifter, at most establishments you'll probably get reprimanded and possibly fired.

Dedicated employees.

Their employer, not so dedicated.

Walmart will not pay for their lawyers and Walmart will spend a day in prison.
