It was a banal and thread bare speech, well worn turf from her stump speeches. And relying on quotes from the past? Including the title and theme of her old book. How original. The only thing she had to offer was more of the same and a repetition of the "together" theme. That might have sold some inattentive unwed mothers, but then she mostly has them anyway.
