Also, I don’t know how much it matters WHERE he’s speaking - it’s not like only the people in Colorado are hearing him. People in Nevada, NH, VA, PA and Iowa are tuning in via the internet, just as many of us are (in fact, I’m one of them!).

It matters somewhat. The people who are there get especially jazzed. If it didn;t matter at all, he could do all the rallies from the same place, until the crowds stopped showing up.
I noticed that he showed up in Iowa, for example, and that is a state that gave its primary win to Cruz. "No hard feelings." He can do the same sort of thing looking forward. He'll do events in California and Minnesota, and he has slim chance of taking either of those states. At the same time, he has millions of supporters in those states too. The fatter the margin, come election day (and I'm thinking gross popular vote), the more able he can claim a mandate.
