Three beloved human characters from the 45-year-old childrens show have been given the Sesame Sweep. Bob the music teacher, Gordon the science teacher and Luis the Mr. Fix-It, played by Bob McGrath, Roscoe Orman and Emilio Delgado respectively, have all been axed.
They let all of the original cast members go, with the exception of Alan Muraoka who is probably 20 years younger than the rest of us and Chris Knowings, who is also young, McGrath, 84, said at a Florida Supercon Q&A on July 2.

I guess I’m old too. I loved the good Captain and his team. In the mid to late 90s he was speaking nearby so I rustled up some tickets and went to see him with my then 9 year old daughter. Meeting him personally that night with her is one of my cherished memories.
I am also sad to see these three be given the boot. I know the show has changed so much since my kids watched, but it is still a fond remembrance for them. My husband had the pleasure of sitting next to Emilio Delgado on an airplane once. He was so nice, and gave my husband an autograph for our kids.

Lucky him, my wife had the misfortune to be seated next to Dan Rather on a flight from Oklahoma City to Chicago. She said he chewed tobacco the whole way and spat in a cup.
THAT IS SO DISGUSTING!!! Your poor wife! Did you give her some sympathy when she returned home?
